How to Declutter Your Home Before You Move!

Ever since my husband started looking for a job on the East Coast and I knew we would be moving, I started to slowly declutter and slowly go through our home. We decluttered so much! It helped that we happened to paint our bedroom and my son’s bedroom a few months before we decided to look for a new job and move. So, when we went to paint, we also decluttered a little bit. I went through pretty much every room in our house since we started looking for a new job to see what we could get rid of....

How I Prepared My Kids Emotionally for a Cross-Country Move!

We just moved across the country from the West Coast to the East Coast. Yes, that is a huge move for us. When we first thought about moving back in August, I knew that we needed to start preparing my kids with the idea of moving. Especially my oldest who is almost 8. She really does not like change. It is hard on her. I know all children are different, but for my oldest, she really needs time to think about and absorb what is going on to make it less upsetting for her. So, we started preparing the kids...

How to Declutter and Organize a Walk-In Closet

Recently, we decided to paint our Bedroom, Bathroom, and Walk-in closet. To do so we really needed to declutter and organize our Walk-in closet also. I’ve been wanting to organize my closet for so long now. It just seemed so busy and filled to the brim with stuff. Going to paint the closet was the perfect motivation to organize it. I realized that I had blankets in there on a shelf that we use for when company comes. However, we actually have a box in storage that we use to store it. So why am I storing it in my...

How to Go from a Dark and Gloomy Owner’s Suite to a Fun and Bright Bedroom!

My bedroom was so dark. Like really dark! I really wanted a fun and bright bedroom! All the walls were a dark blue and even the carpet was blue. Even my bathroom was blue! Everything was just so dark! Our son’s room was also painted the same blue, even his ceiling. Check out his Awesome Vehicle/Travel Themed Room Reveal! Luckily, our ceiling was white, which helped make it a little brighter, but it was still so dark. It was better than my son’s room, even his ceiling was dark blue. When thinking about this room, I knew I wanted it...

Boys Awesome Vehicle/Travel Themed Room Reveal!

Today I want to share my Son’s vehicle/travel themed room reveal! I am so excited! I think it is the cutest thing and it turned out awesome, fun, and colorful! It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do in his room. I found a lot of fun, cute, and cool decorations while looking online, but nothing that really stood out to me for my son………. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted it to be vehicle/travel themed since my son loves all things cars, trains, planes, spaceships, pretty much...

Moving is a Family Adventure!

We are planning on moving across the country soon. It will definitely be an adventure! Ever since we have been actively looking for new jobs, we’ve been already preparing the kids for a move, since we are planning to hopefully move within the year. I have a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old who are perfectly happy with wherever we go and do.  My 6-year-old son is very excited about the thought of moving. He asks “Mom, are we going to move next week?” “No, it might be a while, we are just planning for moving and thinking about it right now.”...

My 2nd Baby’s Pregnancy and Birth Story

Today, I wanted to share my pregnancy and birth story of my 2nd child and my only son. Yes, he is surrounded by 3 sisters but they all love each other and get along really well most of the time. Honestly, getting pregnant with James was a surprise. My oldest was only 13 months old and I hadn’t even had a period yet since I had my oldest. Yes, I knew there is a chance to get pregnant before you have your first period after having a baby. The internet made it sound like that wasn’t likely to happen and...

How to Make a Fun Yarn Pompom Snowman!

As one of our 12 Days of Christmas activities from a few weeks ago, we made a Fun Yarn Pompom Snowman as a family. They turned out so cute!!! Seriously, the kids did a great job making them and they have held up so well to a lot of playing, since my kids played with them all the time, and not always gently either. I’ve been really impressed with how well these fun yarn pompom Snowman have all stayed together. My husband and I helped with the hot glue gun and helped the younger kids make theirs. They chose the...

Why I Had to (Practically) Cold-Turkey Stop Breastfeeding My 1-Year-Old

I am a big fan of Baby-led weaning for breastfeeding. Really, I am. It worked great for my 3 older kids. One stopped breastfeeding around 16-17 months (and honestly, I wish I had done it a touch more baby-led and not for societal pressure, but that’s a story for another day. She was still happy and fine). My 2nd went the longest and stopped feeding at 22 months old. He’s a lot like my 4th, but baby-led weaning still worked. My 3rd breastfed until 20 months old. With all three, I found out I was pregnant before they were weaned...

12 Days of Christmas Fabric Bag Garland hanging across length of living room. 0

Our 12 Days of Christmas Family Activities

One year, a few years ago, my mom made us a long garland with Christmas themed fabric bags tied on, and little ornaments for decorations. There were 12 bags to be exact.  She filled up with such fun little toys and candies that year for us to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas. It was so much fun and the kids loved it! The garland expands the whole length of our living room and I love it as a decoration. Every year since then we have filled it up and enjoyed doing the 12 days of Christmas. This year, we...
